NUMI

NUMI is “a brand that celebrates what it means to be a woman”. It started off as a single product called “The Signature” NUMI; A sweat proof undershirt made with specific fabrics to create sweat wicking technology.

This startup company needed to rebrand and bring more clientele to their e-commerce website.

Solution

Marketing ads were created for Facebook and Google platforms. Held a branding workshop that redesigned NUMI, and their website. Social media platforms were updated with photo and video advertisements to bring more viewers to buy the products NUMI sells.

These shirts come in 4 different colours (almond, caramel, espresso & black). Understanding the NUMI brand style, made it easier to create marketing elements such as photos/videos.

Creating Style Guides

Branding & Identity for Marketing Collateral
NUMI began with a colour scheme, font type and brand look that tried to follow the theme of sophisticated, feminine and comfortable.

Recreating the design, we didn't want to stray too far away from the former design, so colours and fonts were adjusted based on user demographics.

Following the rules of typography such as sizing, spacing, kerning, and colour printing, I got to practice package design.

Paying attention too demographics once again, copywriting practices were used in postcards and package design

Storyboarding

Pitching Video Commercial Ideas & UX Writing
Video commercials were very important at the beginning of advertising this startup. I was able to create storyboards and pitch ideas before shooting the commercials to edit.

Once these were created they were published across social media platforms and the website to gain more traction.

Website Redesign

Formatting the layout of site to have equity and good visual design
  • Using Google Analytics; keywords, copywriting and links were adjusted
  • Watching visual heatmaps of what users find important dictated the layout format designed below
  • Accessibility research helped make the decision of how spacing, kerning, colours, and overall visual design worked

Fashion Tips Email

Weekly/Daily Email Designs sent to NUMI’s full subscriber list
  • Klaviyo data showed users interaction on emails (button clicks, how far they scroll, etc.)
  • The number of open emails, helped myself and the marketing team to choose topics the users wanted to view/read
  • All design was based on research of what users want to know about NUMI (aka the colours that the products are available in, holiday discounts, etc.)

Results/Conclusion

While working closely with the team, I began user research analysis from data outputs of commercials and email marketing results, to create descriptive visuals

In January 2020, we invited a brand designer from England to the Toronto office, and I worked with them to rebrand NUMI; spending 5 days of workshopping to create a final brand design that everyone agreed with

From there, I began to implement the new design and the new mission statement of "helping one woman at a time". A big task of mine was being able to quickly put together art work that displayed the most accessible, efficient and pleasurable user experience
